Now that everyone’s applications and deposits are in, moving your student into residence is quickly becoming a reality! Soon, your student will begin their journey at Queen’s and starting a new adventure. Over the next few months, transition tips for parents and students will be posted periodically to help you prepare for residence – from Move In Day to Move Out.
This week’s Tip of the Week is all about Encouragement.
Encourage your student to contact us with any questions. Privacy laws prohibit us from discussing their residence agreement with you unless they provide us with written consent. By asking their own questions, they’ll begin the transition to a more independent lifestyle – and they’ll feel that much more comfortable asking questions while in residence.
If you or your student would like to attend information sessions, find opportunities to connect with upper-year students, faculty and staff, get some extra preparation for new academic expectations, and be introduced to on-campus resources and support services, why not register for our Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources (SOAR)?
