When are residence fees due?

  • The $525 residence deposit is due with the residence application on June 8, 2022. The remainder of your residence fees will be split into two payments.
  • The first half of your residence fees are due on September 1, 2022
  • The second half of your residence fees are due on January 10, 2023

How to pay for your deposit?

You can pay your residence deposit through online banking, telephone banking or by wire transfer. We do not accept cheques or credit cards as forms of payment. To be considered for a space in residence, you must complete your application and submit your deposit before the June 8, 2022, deadline. We encourage you to pay your deposit early as it can take 3-5 business days for your deposit to process.

Online or Telephone Banking

You can use online or telephone banking at most major banks and trust companies. If you do not have access to online banking or telephone banking, your deposit can be paid from someone else’s account, such as a parent or guardian. We honour the date that a payment is submitted online. Once your payment is received, you will be sent an email confirming that your application is complete.

Once your payment has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation number from the bank. We strongly recommend you make note of that number and save or print off the confirmation message/page.

Steps for Online or Telephone Banking

  • Go to the bill payment section and search Queen’s University (also listed as Queen’s University – Tuition at some financial institutions) and add as a new payee
  • Type in your Queen’s 8-digit student number as the account number
  • Make your deposit payment of $525 CND

If you have any questions or run into any problems with processing your payment, please contact the Queen’s University Registrar at solus@queensu.ca.

Wire Transfer

Some international students may find it more convenient to send their $525 deposit by bank wire transfer. Please note that this method can take time to process, and you may be asked to trace your payment. We encourage you to make the payment well in advance of our deadline. Students should also be advised that, aside from the initial bank, the receiving bank may also impose a charge and additional handling charges on the wire transfer.  We recommend that you add an additional $15 to your payment to cover this cost so your deposit is received in full.

If you have any questions or run into any problems with processing your payment, please contact the Queen’s University Registrar at solus@queensu.ca.

After July 1, 2022, you will not longer be able to get a refund for your $525 deposit.
