ResRules Categories – Security

What are ResRules related to Security?
Physical safety is the top priority of everyone working in residences, and must be a top priority for residents as well.  The ResRules surrounding security are in place to help preserve everyone’s physical safety.  Offenses in this category include allowing unauthorized people into residence buildings and lending keys, because allowing strangers into residence buildings can and does put residents at risk.  It also includes failing to follow the directions of staff who are attempting to maintain a safe environment . ResRules also prohibit access to restricted areas such as rooftops, because accessing these spaces is incredibly dangerous.  Finally, possession of weapons or any form of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in residences.

Another aspect of security deals with illegal or controlled substance.  Possession and trafficking of these creates an increased risk for physical harm both to one’s self and others – people influenced by controlled substances are simply more likely to harm themselves or others than ones who are not.
