Cleaning/Garbage/Recycling


We’re proud of our custodial team, who work hard to clean and maintain your residence buildings. Our staff are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment, and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in all buildings.

Our professional custodial team:

  • cleans kitchens, lounges, washroom/shower facilities and public areas on a daily basis
  • removes garbage and recycling items (plastic, glass and cans) from public areas and supplies garbage bags for your bedroom
  • looks after maintenance requests such as furnishings, surfaces, plumbing and appliances
  • handles after-hours maintenance emergencies and works with the front desk to arrange for services such as after-hours plumbers, etc.

You are expected to:

  • Clean and maintain your own room
  • Keep common areas on your floor tidy and free of trash
  • Treat all furnishings and common areas responsibly
  • Remove your own garbage and recycling from your room

Please note that students are responsible for all damage that is caused in the rooms, buildings or furnishings therein. The University will invoice for damage and losses.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING
Each building has a garbage and recycling depot – you are expected to bring your own garbage and recycling to this location. Blue recycling boxes are available in each residence room and garbage bags are available from our custodial team.
