Checking In

Important: If you will be arriving later than our official move-in day (or later than your stated faculty date), notify Residence Admissions by email at reshouse@queensu.ca – otherwise, your room will be cancelled after 3 days.

  • Students should check in to their assigned residence between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. Check-in desks will be open at each residence except for Graduate Residence and Harkness International Hall (Grad Residence and Harkness Hall residents can check in at Victoria Hall). Our four main desks (Victoria Hall, Waldron Tower, Leggett Hall and Jean Royce Hall) will be open 24 hours on move-in day.

  • Find your residence hall, and go inside to check in and pick up keys. Soon after you arrive in your room, ensure that you complete the on-line ‘Room Assessment’ form on the Residence website. This will give you the opportunity to notify us of the condition of your room and will protect you from being billed for damage or losses that may have been present in your room upon you taking occupancy.

  • Your Don, Residence Facilitator or House President will be there to welcome you and tell you about Residence Orientation activities.

Parking

Click here for a list of parking areas on main campus and click here for a list of parking areas on west campus. You do not require a parking permit for surface lots on move-in day (some underground garages may charge a fee – note that Tindall Field underground parking behind Victoria Hall will be free on move-in day until 6 p.m.).
