- Fall Final Payment for Residence- due September 30, 2012
- Winter Exchange- application and deposit due December 1, 2012
- Winter term only – final payment due January 30, 2013

Deposit and Refund Information
- Residence application is available online once you have read through this important information.
- a deposit of $525 CDN must accompany your application which is due by July 1st, 2012 or December 1st, 2012 (unless notified of a different date in your letter of acceptance at Queen’s).
- Once your residence application is submitted, a $525 charge is applied to your Student Financial Account within 48 business hours.
- Deposits must be made in Canadian or US funds by wire transfer. We do not accept credit card payments, post dated cheques or email money transfers.
- We can not process an application unless there is a depositInstructions for wire transfer:
Some international students may find it more convenient to send their deposit by bank wire transfer. Please note that this method can take time to process and you may be asked to trace your payment.; We encourage you to make the payment well in advance of our deadline. Students should also be advised that, aside from the initial bank, the receiving bank may also impose a charge and additional handling charges on the wire transfer.

Refund Policy
- The $525 deposit is non-refundable. The deposit will be applied to your residence fees. If there are no available rooms after you have submitted your deposit, the full $525 will be refunded to you.

- Harkness International Hall – Single room with optional meal plan
Room Assignment Process
- Fall Exchange students are not guaranteed residence, however a number of rooms are reserved for exchange students.
- Winter Exchange students have a higher chance of securing a spot in residence as there is normally more students in the fall exchange and less in the winter exchange.
- Some students may not be successful in the process and will be notified by email in a timely manner so that they can pursue alternate accommodation off campus.
Special Needs and Disability

- We are committed to accommodating the requirements of students with disabilities to the best of our ability.
- In circumstances of late acceptance to the university, we will try to accommodate to the best of our ability however in some instances we may be limited in our available options.
- If you wish us to take into account a medical condition which would not be described as a disability, please fill in only sections C & D on the special consideration form. This information MUST be submitted by July 1/December 1, 2012.
- If a request for room/building adaptation is not submitted by the deadline for applications, options are limited in terms of alternate accommodation room changes based on medical needs. Forms received after the application deadline will only be considered if they are under exceptional circumstances and will be subject to availability. Please note that residence is high density living and it may be difficult to control the environment in regards to special considerations. The Residence Life Staff can act as a resource to help educate others although we strongly encourage students who may have environmental health concerns to consider if accommodation in residence is safe and conducive to their lifestyle.
- If you have a parent, guardian, or sibling with a disability such as mobility, vision or hearing impairment that would require accommodation when visiting your residence building please contact the residence admissions office to discuss options.
Our Agreement with You
Read the residence agreement carefully. You are entering into a legal agreement for the next eight months and should be familiar with your obligations and our policies.
